Why the colour code matters
- Fast, accurate loading: loaders and judges read the bar at a glance.
- Safety: lifters can check the load before they lift.
- Consistency: the same colours in every gym and every competition.
How Werksan uses the colour code
- IWF competition discs: full colour, IWFCP10 to IWFCP25.
- LionFit colour plates: LCD10 to LCD25.
- Custom plates: full IWF colour (WLK21–24) or black with a colour stripe (CBCP110–125).
Common questions
Why are 25 kg and 2.5 kg plates both red?
The change plates repeat the main colour sequence, so the colour tells you the plate family and the size tells you the weight.
Do black plates follow the colour code?
Black stripe plates use a coloured stripe in the IWF colour for each weight, so they can still be read at a glance.
